	MultiCam Offers Adjustable Head Spacing for Oxy-Fuel Torches

An adjustable head spacing option is available now for 6000 Series Plasma oxy-fuel torches. A 2" wide recirculating stainless steel drive belt wraps around the gantry tube’s front wall in the Y axis. We attached the primary plasma torch permanently to the stainless steel belt and mounted the oxy-fuel torches on adjustable clamps that can slide up and down the belt.

Simply position the oxy-fuel assembly at the desired distance from the main plasma torch and clamp it in place. Both torches will move in unison under CNC program control. Position multiple oxy-fuel torches on adjustable centers relative to the main plasma spindle, depending on gantry width and maximum spacing desired. This option may require upsizing the gantry width based on application requirements.

	V-Series WaterJet Makes its Debut at FABTECH

MultiCam will introduce the Value-Series WaterJet at FABTECH in Chicago, Ill., Nov. 14-17. This pure-water or abrasive cutting system features work surfaces up to 60" x 120".

“We designed the V-Series WaterJet to offer high performance, versatility and productivity at an affordable price,” said MultiCam Director of Sales and Marketing John Harris. “It’s easy on the budget and a smart CNC investment.”

Fully enclosed bellows protect both the Y and Z axes from abrasive garnet buildup. The X axis features dual drives and completely covered custom aluminum extrusions to keep all precision bearing surfaces clean during the cutting process. KMT’s new NEO 10D direct drive intensifier rated at 10 hp and 40,000 PSI powers the V-Series WaterJet. The pump also is available in a single-phase electrical configuration, which makes it ideal for small shops without three-phase power.

Recommend this new V-Series machine to customers needing the flexibility of waterjet cutting at a more affordable price point. Maketing materials to come.


	KOMT Installs Router in Kansas State Basement

KOMTRouter Jeremy Seier, a corporate manager at Kansas-Oklahoma Machine Tool, handled an unusual MultiCam Router installation at Kansas State University in Manhattan recently.

“This was a first for me,” he said. “We put a router in the basement of Seaton Hall. Literally had to cut a hole in the wall between two windows, boom it in through the hole with a crane, lower it to the basement floor and skid it into place.”

An existing MultiCam Plasma user referred Kansas State to KOMT. This is the College of Architecture, Planning & Design’s first CNC machine. After students draw designs, they’ll cut wood, foam, fiberglass, plastic and other materials with the MultiCam CNC 3204 Router. Then they’ll use the parts to build mockups along with final models and furniture designs.


	Get Texpert Training Handouts on the Support Site

In September, MultiCam Inc. hosted Texpert Training on various aspects of operation and maintenance for North American Technology Center personnel. Headquarters’ technicians and engineers worked with KMT and Hypertherm vendors to present the most up-to-date information available on new and existing systems. TexpertShirt1

Texpert Training handouts are available on the Support site for Tech Center personnel who were unable to attend or want information from classes they missed.

Attendees participated in hands-on instruction that ranged from very basic to advanced applications. Classes included Digital Express Conveyor, Knife Configuration Setup, Knife ATC Setup, Advanced MultiVision, Plasma Sequence of Operations, Plasma Troubleshooting Tools and Five-Axis Plasma and Rotary Indexer. Others were WaterJet Pump Maintenance, WaterJet Accessory Equipment Training, NC GeoMate Setup and Basics, V-Series Plasma Training, Servo Troubleshooting, Controller Training, Advanced Suite4, EZ G-Code and True Hole, Online Support Tools plus Technical Tools and Oscilloscope.
